Founded in 2012 by leading school associations and prominent figures from the private education sector, PEN exists to protect and promote the rights and interests of private institutions across the province.
For over a decade, PEN has led advocacy for the private education sector through continuous dialogue, legal engagement, and constructive consultation with the government. A landmark achievement was the successful campaign to amend the Private Schools Regulatory Authority (PSRA) Act. Through persistent effort and consultation, PEN secured changes to several provisions of the law that were widely considered detrimental to the autonomy and growth of private educational institutions.
Alongside legal and policy work, PEN has consistently championed quality education, the dignity of teaching, and the inclusion of moral and Islamic values in the curriculum. The network has actively advocated for the removal of inappropriate content from educational materials.
